Hospitals buttons and rest............

I am so sorry for not replying to many of your lovely comments, but I have been in hospital with my back and I spent all last week trying to crawl around the carpet to find a comfortable place to cry...anyway that is boring..the drugs are working and I am hobbling around and fit enough to say sorry xxxx

I have been going out of my mind  and needed a distraction so I thought I would play with my new old wallpaper so I have frugally started to paint on it, I had painted some buttons  as an experiment to pass some time and then thought... they would look nice on a pretty background so I painted some plain laundry buttons onto one of my vintage wallpaper boards. I think it works and its a wonderful distraction for the moment

The roses are out of the garden don't they smell divine

Completely, utterly gorgeous.

So sorry to hear that you have been in pain w/ your back, Lynn. I spent so many years in this state - all I'd have to do is sneeze or turn, and my back would go out. So I started doing a little yoga, and my back doesn't go out as much anymore. Hopefully you'll be feeling better soon!!!

Take good care,
Lin

Your paintings are so so lovely. I hope you can rest so your back heals. Try not to worry. My Dad lived with severe back pain for over 10 yrs and then had back surgery. My 87 yr old Grandma had back surgery last year. Both of them are pain free now. i know you are a runner but you may have to consider walking. I was a runner too but it is very hard on the body. Walking is gentler. I send you peace fragile flower. xxo

Oh Lynn how uncomfortable for you.
I do hope you're on the mend.
Wonderful button paintings. You've taken something so mundane as a linen covered button and given it new life. Can you imagine the gentle fingers that once fondled with the original ones, undoing them to end a day of labour and finally taking to bed.
Enjoy the weekend and take it slowly.

I am so sorry to hear of your back trouble and hope you are feeling your old self soon. Yoga is very therapeutic for the body and may help when you are able. Your paintings and the ideas you have are magical. Those are my favourite type of buttons, especially when attached to the blue card. They compliment your gorgeous wallpapers beautifully. Rest and recouperate. Jayne

I do hope you will soon be well Lynn.
I've just spent 6 days in hospital too....my chemotherapy knocked out my white blood cells and I became seriously ill.
That part of the chemo has now been stopped, but I still have 6 more treatments of the other one to come.
Thinking of you,
Ellen xx

Lynne, I really am sorry about your back. Being a potter I've had a lot of back issues, and found ice to relieve the swelling helps more than anything. When the swelling goes down the healing can begin. I still hardly go anywhere without ice . I know it feels terrible to be so helpless but know it will get better; just take it slow.
YOur wallpapers are gorgeous! and your work with them is so pretty.
Take care , if you have any questions just ask.
