Summer dresses.....

Guess what I have been doing....yes! I have been slaving over a hot sewing machine creating bags and summer dresses from scratch from  my stash of vintage linen fabrics and lacy treasures, I have been cutting out dress pieces all week printing some by hand and then hand dyeing others to get the right effect. Some fabrics are more difficult to cut and handle especially the silk ones. Then assembling them and fitting them its been like an atelier in our home. After I have finished making them up I wash them and leave them to dry in the sunshine I like the vintage crumpled effect ha ha . I like to use paper patterns by Merchant and Mills and Tina Givens  and  play with their divine designs  I hope you like the results, I do  xxxx

Yes, the dresses and fabrics you have chosen are absolutely beautiful, and it's great how you've customised them. I just had the M&M factory dress made up. It's very plain, almost like an overall, but I love its simplicity.

These are the most beautiful May flowers (I am referring to your dresses & bags) I have seen! You are a true artist and designer. I would be so happy wearing any of your dresses...they are exactly my style! I love how to add bits of rose material and all the ruffles.

Your blog banner is gorgeous!!!!

Creativity is flowing from your heart. From heart to hands to earth...beauty.

What beautiful dresses and bag you have created, all with your very distinctive touches. I especially love the grey one. The little touches make them so unique.

Dearest Lynne,
These are so beautiful....you would know how much I appreciate them.
I have been "set aside" with surgery through December and then February and am now going through 6 months of chemotherapy.
It is a rough journey but is giving me much time for reflection, prayer and direction for the future.
My creativity vanished for a few months, but is back now and I am altering and making some new clothes for me, as I have now lost a lot of weight.
I'm also having a wonderful time creating in my garden with new herb beds, box hedges and a newly relined and planted pond....on the days when I have some energy that is.....I believe all will be well.
You have given me much encouragement both at that first exhibition in 2010 at New Designers, and then on my Blog...I don't feel too much like blogging at the moment, but may get back to it in the future...it is one day at a time for me, and today I am making a net underskirt to lengthen a pretty floral skirt.
Hoping that you are well and loving your work as always.

I think they're just lovely Lynn and the fact that they are the result of artistry, ingenuity and the willingness to breathe new life into something they're in a class of their own.

You are so creative! Your dresses and bag are just beautiful. How excited you must be to begin wearing them, woo hoo!
My youngest daughter has been busy sewing dresses too she has been very poorly recently, so how grateful I am that she is managing to be creative once more.

You changed your blog-header....it's gorgeous!

Your dresses look beautiful Lynn! They make me want to sit behind my sewing machine and do the same. It's been years since I made a dress for myself.

I think the last one is my favourite. It has such pretty colours!

Wishing you a happy week & lots of fun sewing!
