Jessie pouring out the tea..........

                            Just starting the day.................so exciting..............................

I want to share a perfect Saturday with you all.  I went to the most wonderful work-shop at Jessie's and Buddugs shop in London on the Columbia road.....
Jessie showed us her some of her amazing Journals to inspire us, she likes to use vintage fabrics with character and embellishes them with hand stitch and all sorts of beautiful found buttons, ribbons and jewellery. To help us get started she gave us all fabulous fabric packs to work with, they were filled with vintage linens, embroidered lace and pretty postcards to start us off. Then provided us with beautiful script ink stamps......vintage ephemera, everything you might need.....
The whole shop is an absolute inspiration and for me to be able to sit and sew for 5 hours plus be surrounded by all that vintage.... well....I was in seventh heaven, and with 4 other lovely ladies  to chat to and share cake with the day passed far far to quickly ...................
To end the day I wondered in the warm late sun slowly down Brick Lane...made some rather nice fabric purchases from a vintage shop (show you later) and ate a rather good curry and a home-made lemonade......before getting the 7.30pm train back to my beloved who had bought me this lovely surprise for my Birthday....thank you my Adrian xxxx
Hope you all had a great weekend

Shadows of the mind.........................

                                        Waiting for the train..............................

My embroidery on an old feed sack...I keep putting it down then doing a bit more.......................nearly finished

Shadows........ I find magical They are there...seen or unseen.... eclipses, moonshine, earth shine...... all can reflect our secret places becoming portals into our creative unconscious. This recess of our deeper consciousness hoards our dreams our imaginings from which we draw with effort and will the ideas to translate into our creations. My embroidered /beaded Blue bird sings now.... where once it was quiet just waiting in the dark, somewhere in my mind  .......................................

The Rites of May............ Beltane

I am Aradia:
Daughter of the sea, and daughter of the wind;
Daughter of the Sun, and daughter of the Moon;
Daughter of the dawn, and daughter of the sunset.
Daughter of the night, and daughter of the mountains.
I have sung the song of the sea,
And I have listened to the sighing of the wind.
I have heard the hidden secrets of the Sun,
And I have drunk of the tears of the Moon.
I have seen the beauty of the dawn,
And I have seen the sorrow of the sunset.
I have lain 'neath the darkest dark of the night,
And I have beheld the might of the mountains.
For I am stronger than the sea, and freer than the wind.
I am brighter than the Sun, and more changing than the Moon.
I am the hope of the dawn, and the peace of the sunset.
I am more mysterious than the night, and older than the mountains.
Older than time itself;
For I am She who was, who is, and who will be:
For I am Aradia.
Come, my chosen one, come, my lover

When the wind blows warm and perfumed across the meadows, and bird song moves the air in tremors of song which of us can resist spending time in the company of the Goddess.
