Starting to decorate......................

Hope you are all well xxx and not too frazzled from looking at the horrendous cost of Christmas trees....
I think I shall have to opt out this year. I have two lovely ones in pots outside and may bring one in for a few days, but I feel guilty and don't want to kill it.
I play motets and chants when I am decorating...eat lots of cake and today had a rather nice cool glass of Asti ( I love the bubbles)... so I am sorry if the pictures are a little squify.....ha ha.
Tuesday will be simply lovely some friends are coming round for a Christmas workshop, lots of mess lots of fun..I shall take some pictures..Hurrah!
Hugs Lynn xxxx

Your house looks so beautiful Lynn. I had glass or two of bubbly when I did my decorating too, it's de rigueur ;-)

Dear Lynn,

Your house looks magical with all the neutrals and the touches of Christmas! The prices of the trees in England must be the same as in Holland. We normally have a big tree in our living room that almost hits the ceiling, but this time it's a smaller one.

Just read your other post too about the angels. I hope I am not too late to buy one from you? They look so sweet! I would love to have one in our house.

Wish you a happy new week!

Lieve groet, Madelief x

Just starting here, too, Lynn. Everything feels so lovely and tidy and seems to quietly await adorning.

I wonder if you might find a "Christmas branch"? We had friends who did that once and it was charming and simple. We are fortunate enough to be able to roam our woods, looking for a little scrub pine each year...they look rather scraggly, but I love the wildness.

With warm wishes,

Lesley

Hello Lynn, it all looks very calm and beautifully magical at your place. I love the little shoes lined up under the table. Have a wonderful week, and thankyou so much for my shy little fairy (she looks like a girl in my daughters class at school!)She looks very pretty in my hall. Much love, Linda x

RIGHT! That's it!!! You've brought it upon yourself...

If you MUST post pictures of your home looking like it just fell out of Jeanne D'arc living and some kind of faded French heaven.. then you cannot wonder at the possible strangeness of looking out of your window and finding a hoard of your blog readers... queuing up to come in and soak up the marvellousness...eat a mince pie and inhale and absorb the wondrousness!!!!

It looks beautiful.. like peace on earth and just so... restful. And I just feel like it would smell of cinnamon apples and soft linen.

Your Home is so soothing and inviting... Loving your Christmas touches and your Greenery/Twig creation looks as Lovely as any Tree I've seen! Here in the Desert the real trees are not only expensive but dry out in a heartbeat making me fearful of the fire hazard so we always use the faux Trees now and I scored a lovely White one on a Goodwill Hunting Junquing Adventure for this year! It fit beautifully with my Salvage/Memory Christmas Theme of Sage & Sepia with touches of bold Exotic Jewel Tones.

I'd Love to have been able to join you for a glass and we could have gotten squiffy together... I'm always a MUCH more accomplished Decorator and Stylist when I'm squiffy {well, at least in that state of mind I FEEL I am! LOL} *Winks*

The lovely shine and sparkle - so subtle against your pale backgrounds. Very soothing.

My husband always denied that we would ever buy an artificial tree. Three years ago, we did just that and we've never looked back. It's paid for itself over time and is so easy to put up (a real plus as the years inevitably pass us by) and decorate.

Merry Christmas to you and yours,
Annie
