Oooo how lovely, my favourite food is definitely mince pies, I eat loads. Every November I start and claim to be doing taste comparisons and buy lots from different stores. We inevitably scoff the lot and then I, or my mum end up making some :)

Lovely both the stocking and the little pouch, this I will not miss. My favourite christmas food is "pinnekjøtt", it's the ribb from sheep who is salted and dried and you coock it for christmasdinner here in Norway. It's served with potatoes, mashed kohlrabi and red cabbage(sauerkraut).

I adore French linen...
VANILLE KRUNSL
¾ c sugar
1 egg + 1 egg yolk
10 oz butter
1 pkt vanilla sugar
3 c flour
Icing sugar and jam to finish
1 Mix all dry ingredients
2 Rub in butter
3 Add eggs and egg yolk
4 Roll on lightly-floured board. Cut into discs
5 Bake on ungreased baking sheet at 325 for 12-15 minutes until pale yellow. Careful... all that lucious butter browns quickly.
6 Sandwich with jam and dust with icing sugar.

Sometimes I cut a hole with a thimble in half of the discs. Looks pretty when the jam peeks out.

From my husband's family. We make them always and only at Christmas...it's a ritual, we gather, bake, listen to Christmas music...share.
