because there is so much space and the beauty of it takes your breath away.....

because although Carla speaks Swedish her partner IS Swedish and is really funny
.............

because the shops in Stockholm are very very chic.....

because the air is sooo clear and clean and everyone has fab gardens.......

because the cafes are so nice I could move in!!!

because the vintage linen is gorgeous
..........

because the whole lovely place has real old fashioned values in a modern way
.....

What a beautiful post this is, you must have had a wonderful time. I LOVE Sweden, Stockholm, the houses, lakes, food, shops. Your friend's lovely home reminds me of holidays spent in the Swedish countryside when I was younger. Hoping to do a house-exchange next year...

What a lovely post! I too, love Sweden... because my best friend from high school is Swedish and back then I had started learning Swedish because her family spoke only that language in the house! LOL... so if I was having dinner with them and needed the salt... well, it was necessary to know the words to ask for it! That was years ago, and now I don't remember what I had learned. Wish I could remember. (: Vicki

Lovely post, makes me really proud over my country..! It is always interesting to hear what people in the rest of the world thinks of Sweden...

I live in the southest part of Sweden, so I hardly ever visits Stockholm...

Have a LOVELY weekend!

Sweden is great (I live just the other side of the Baltic, so I've been there quite a few times) - I love their country homes, rocky coast, nice capital with loooots of museums... So I have no doubt you've had a good holiday!

If you'd like to prolong that feeling, just have a look at Swedish literature. Weren't you looking for some summer reading?
I'd recommend anything by Selma Lagerliof: "The ring of the Löwenskölds", "The story of Gösta Berling", "The emperor of Portugallia" - her books will take you to another world, where I'm sure you'll even find inspiration for your works!

Have a great weekend.

Dear Lynn
What a wonderful time you had and how evocative your pictures are. We visited Denmark last year and I LOVED it - as you say, the old fashioned values are so refreshing to find there! And so many beautiful shops I could be bankrupt in seconds!
Glad you had a lovely break, Welcome home.
