The paths of the Goddess

Who now knows the ancient tongue of the moon? Who still listens to what the Goddess says, the langage of the land, has slipped away into the well of the past, and only the rocks and mountains remember what was told us long ago. Yet the land still sings in the wild and open spaces and wispers still in the flowers and grasses. I have found comfort and inspiration in the silence of these places, and I am most grateful for it.
I have been inspired this week to make an embroidered bag, using just odd bits from my sewing box, very make do and mend, with my inspirations coming from some of the things I love...what inspires you to create, what inspires you to be original.....
With love xx

Dear Lynn,

I am so glad when I see that you have new post!:) This bag is WONDERFUL! I love the way you incorporated a lot of different fabric textures and LOVE the applique. I have been using mostly paper lately but am inspired by taking apart old jewelry and using little pieces in my work... thanks for the inspiration. hugs, Amy

Dear Lynn,
Oh what a wonderful bag - your work is always so original with a special touch of something untangable. Hmmm.
I am inspired by your work:) and particular by music. Sometimes when I drive my car, I can hear a song on the radio and just feel a painting coming to my mind. It`s strange but very normal for many people I think...
Well, I hope you are doing better and get lots of rest too. Sometimes creating is very good recreation.
Hugs from Solveig

I hope that you are much better and I can see by the bag that your creativity is still very healthy.
I feel the presence of the Goddess for she shields us with her gossamer wings and allows us to share the beauty of the past to protect it for the future.

Your words are so poetic. I always feel dream like when I come visit you. Your bag is wonderful...it reminds me of an altered art collage but in this case made of the most wonderful fabrics.
My biggest source of inspiration is Somerset magazines and of course blogs( like yours)
Have a beautiful day.....

Hi again Lynn,
Thank you for your kind words in my blog. I have not yet converted my design to paper or fabric, but I have thought about it. Also to copy a former painting to large papers and "paste" it in to a new painting as background. I would love to make a design for the fabric for a dress for ex. There are SO many possibilities. Just have to find the time.. I feel very creative these time of year. But, sometimes it is hard to "just do it". It is all in my head...:)

Have a wonderful day - here sun is shining:)
Hugs Solveig

Hello Lynn
What a beautiful bag, it seems to tell a story. I love it!
As for my inspiration - well, mostly nature, but also the people around me, books, music, Art images, I guess just about anything and everything! But my favourite type of creativity is just playing with mixed media and letting it take me where it will...
have a super week!

The ancient tongue of the moon has not been silenced here in the south west of France. All of the farmers and horticultarists plant by the almanac. My neighbour is so well versed in the cycle of the moon he has no need to consult it. The earth has a rhythm that is still understood by many despite all the modern developments, however I thank science for the wonderful improvements in medicine. Thank you Lynn for opening my mind
