Time to think......

I love January.........it is for me the best month in the year, all is quiet and all is at peace. Most chores were completed for Christmas, there is nothing worth having in the shops, the garden is asleep and I too can retreat into the days of half light and dream.............
I am creative and I need inspirations, looking at my work I see it grows from the earth and sky, the beauty of what I see every day, but this cannot be forced....I cannot drive myself relentlessly to create, to be original...I have to wait... and dream, letting ideas slip through my mind like water over stones while I carry on working, and shopping and cleaning up......those thoughts will surface they always do..I just have to trust myself to wait....
I hope you enjoy January too
Love and Hugs
Lynn xx

I just stumbled upon your blog, don't know which blog I discovered you from LOL!
I find your blog fascinating, your art is varied and beautiful and you are so obviously naturally gifted.
I am so inspired, that as soon as I've finished this note, I'm gonna go and create!
Thank you for for such a beautful ray of sunshine on an otherwise dull day. blessings,Sandie xxx

Beautiful pictures...
How true is that, we cannot go on and on doing things. Sometimes we need to stop and rest, take the inspiration in slowly, think carefully...
Maybe I will start liking January. Thanks to your post:).

Dear Lynn:)
Again I can relate so much to what you are writing. I have the same feeling about my creativity process. Today is the last day of the holiday and I thought that 3 weeks of art-rest/stop would fill me up for new work in the coming year. But, today I feel almost empty in that sence! And have absolutely no idea about where to start... But I know from experience that suddently! I get a hinch somewhere from anywhare - which shows me the direction to start. The month of January is almost magic and needed. It is very cold outside (below 11 here) and a good chance to look within - before searching out. I know the creativity will flower again.
Have a nice week Lynn,
Hugs from Solveig :)

Dear Lynn. Happy January to you too! I agree, to allow my creativity to flourish I need quiet and space and stillness. Which is, as you say, what January gives. Here's to plenty of quiet days and looking forward to seeing your inspiration unfold in new pieces in time to come. Denise

Yes, the January gives us time to think. Everything needs to be patience. And someday, the right thing.

I absolutely definitely certainly want to LEARN to like January now. It's always seemed a sad month to me, dark and cold, filled with the melancholy of letting go of those jolly holidays... But this has to change. I'm going to adopt yur thinking. Otherwise I won't be off to a very good start each year, will I?

A warm hug to you, dear Lynn! May your January be dreamy and peacuful!

Dear Lynn, many thanks for showing me January in this beautiful way, I often felt it as a month dark and with nothing happening, this has changed, but after reading you, I might even come to love it!
And I have even made a new textile picture today, perhaps from these days of rest where I could come back to my deep true loves, best wishes and hug Martine

You´ve explained how it is precisely! Creativity can´t be forced..when it flows, it flows..other times you just register things you see and like, get ispiraton from other directions...opening the eyes for new opportunities and for making own personal items influenced by life :-) I love the colours in your pics..so winterfresh..
I hope you´ve managed to keep the warmth! It sound really cold with just one glass windows, we have two..so it is satisfyingly warm indoors..our house has no basement, it is little bit chilly on the floors. Thicker stockings will do just fine keeping the toes warm :-)
Still we have -14 and I´m glad that we have a couple of days left before it´s time to wake up early in the morning again...I really don´t like scraping the carwindows in the mornings :-/
I hope your weekend has been rewarding..I´m pleased to have done something creative and my hands haven´t complained that much about it :-)
Have you ever been to a chiropractor for your back? I´ve been to one a couple of times and it made a great difference with my back and shoulders. And it didn´t hurt at all..just awful lot of sounds ;-)
I wish you a womderful new week..and hey! It´s January Lynn..your favourite time of year!

Hugs Anne

No..still no change for the better when it comes to my neighbours...I don´t even think that they have recieved the letter from the Police yet..!This makes me very disappointed, that it must take so LONG for something to actually happen...My father is going to talk to the man who owns the house I rent...hopefully on Wednesday. The man I rent from, is my neighbour´s boss...Everything is very complicated as you probably understands...

I stumbled onto your blog and love it. Your combintation of the words, photos, artwork and music is wonderful, inspiring and very soothing.

I agree that January is a wonderful month for quiet inspiration. For me it always somewhat bittersweet. It is the end of quality time off from work but a start to a new year full of possibilities.

Please keep up your blog it is fabulous. From the other side of the pond in the farmland of NJ!

I must admit that January isn't my favourite month, I don't make any New Year's resolutions etc/ I am trying to embrace January this year and the promise of all the New Year may hold. I do like your idea of just going along with the month and seeing what happens rather than writing lots of lists of things that must happen!!!
Take care Lynn, enjoy your dreaming. Happy New Year and thanks again for a beautiful post and photos

It was minus 14 degrees celcius when we went on the walk on our small raods to our lake Mälaren. And the pictures was taken when the sun was going down in the afternoon. The light is magical up here in Sweden now theese winter mounths. When the sun is comming out from all clouds *smiles*. We have had the nicest days i a week and half now. Sun from clearblue sky and frost so lovely! In december it was just five sun hours the hole mounth where i live. Not so strange that i have felt so tired all time. It has been so nice now to reload the batteries!

I hope you can understand my English. It is like the google translator, not so gor, but funny sometimes!

Goodnight my dear friend, and i see you soon!

your pictures are so soothing this morning. the fence post reminds me of the ranch in texas.

I didn't thing anyone could make me like January, the longest and the coldest months of the year.
The month when we here in the north don't see much daylight. We need to shoveling snow and scraping ice from the carwindows every morning.

Our yearning for spring and the sun is so great.
But you got me to see January from a different side......

A month of reflection, recovery and peace......

You are so wise......

Ohooo thank you for sending me some happiness, it really helped and i feel much better, I had a little hospital visit you see and i really do not like hospitals so that with my January blues,

I feel I am more awake than i have ever been and slowly, slowly I can see the sunshine again and all the good things that life has to offer are much clearer to me, i know much of this is to do with that i shall never see the baby we lost ever grow up, or play, or go to school, or be very mischievous, I am always thinking of him, but I am getting there, he is loved so very much and i am so happy that I have that love in me especially for him.

I find Winter to be such a peacefully creative time as well. Your photos are enchanting and inspiring at the same time. Winter being the time when plants sleep and gain energy for the big spring push - just as you are gathering ideas for your next project!
