The road goes ever on and on.......

A whole new year.....full of joy, magic, love? Oh I do hope so....  it is always for me kind of scary exciting at New Years Eve, at the beginning of a brand new untouched year, wanting only the good things for my family and friends, wanting and trying to be a better person in so many ways, aiming to acheive .... just that bit more..........
I hope the Blessings of this New Year are with us all, I really do.........

Happy Wedding anniversary my beloved........

Solstice snows, may we all be blessed throughout this day and through the coming year.
I went walking at sunrise through the snow and the whole landscape was breathtaking, and just look at this divine little rabbit looking out of a house window at the snow ...I had to creep up quietly and take his picture doesn't he look cute.
Well this is as always for many reasons a very special day and this evening we shall celebrate in the park, with a walk in the snow and I will heat up some mulled wine and take it in a flask...can't think of a nicer way to celebrate.
with love

overwhelming peace......

I love candle light

A vintage necklace

Waxed and glass glitter bunting

The last of the sun shines through my windows

I cannot believe it but I have finished work for Christmas..... there is snow outside and it's oh so cold rattling through my window frames, the fire is lit and I have been baking..... to me this is just perfect.
What makes your day perfect?

The beauty of Friday....

Flowers on our table, I love the smell of them

A velvet bag I decorated with vintage stones....

Our beautiful river

I have made Crackers and Angel Boxes for table gifts......

I do not work Fridays, yet I still love to get up at my usual 6am and walk across the river, this is my time, and within the silence I feel lifted and nourished by the sleeping countryside. There is always a stillness before Yule, a quiet time...as I wait for the return of the light, for the birth of the Christ Child, there is a magic in the air, a sparkle of frost on the wooden fences, a robin singing in the bare branches, carols and music in the air, and when the dawn comes up a bright halo of gold guilds everything. This is precious and cannot be bought, each day is original and special, I  hope you are having a lovely time this weekend.

1st Advent... the magic begins....

I am making crepe paper angels and filling them with Advent goodies tucked in their skirts I think I will have to make some like crackers for the Yule table.

These are some silk velvet gift bags that I can put in a selection of small presents, that will be fun to unwrap, I have to sew some silver snowy sequins on this one yet.

We had the most lovely day choosing our tree  and just smelling all the trees together and seeing the magic in peoples faces, I hope you are having a wonderful Advent today.Thank you for all your lovely comments, and visits.
Hugs for a peaceful week

Winter cleaning.........

Starting with the hall yesterday..I am clearing and cleaning.....I would much rather be making things but I need to put a new coat of white lye on the wooden floor, so it has to be stripped and cleaned first ....yummy!!!
But then we are going walking with lunch in our tummy's and warm scarves, we are off to pick up pine cones, and fallen branches to make some kindling for the wood burner, there was a bad wind last night so there should be lots of twigs to harvest today.
I have tentatively added music back to my blog....please tell me if it is making it too slow to look at and I will remove it...I would so like to find some Gregorian Chants to play for Yule...........
Sorry if I cannot always reply, I really do treasure each of your comments.

Cosy toes..................

The day is dark, a herald for the quiet sleepy shadows that fill November days
enabling me to sew and make my Christmas presents, while the dust falls hidden and undisturbed.
I am making aprons from vintage and home printed fabrics, and some 'Christmas Fairy' napkins, she just needs a star sewing on where she is reaching up...... and I have bought a lovely white cotton bag, and I have relined it and printed it for a present.
I can't face the shops yet they are too bright and too busy, they intrude on my thoughts, my purse needs to rest!! I love the coming of the winter, the dark soft days, I like to wrap up in soft warm clothes and light a fire, making small nests on the sofa with Adrian, or maybe battle through the woods in the wind and rain looking for beautiful fallen branches to hang my Yule decorations on....I think I like this better than summer............
Sweet Dreams and cosy toes my lovely friends

Samhain....gossamer shadows to lead us home....

Let our dear one's that have gone before us.
Return this night and make merry with us
And when our time comes as it must,
Oh thou the Comforter the Consoler'
The Giver of peace and rest.
We will enter thy realms gladly and unafraid
For we know that ,
When rested and refreshed amongst our dear ones
We will be reborn again, by thy grace,
And the grace of the Great Mother.
Let it be in the same place, and at the same time'
As our beloved ones.
And may we meet, and know, and remember, and love them again.
May we all be blessed with happy memories on this eve
.
With much love
Lynn

Crows talking................

One by one each step draws us closer to our dreams, whatever they may be...........
Saturday was beautiful.
The crows whispered ancient secrets in the trees
rattling bare branches like bones, we saw a hind as if Diana gliding and leaping across the lowland meadows and later as we climbed high, the milky sun drew long pale shadows across the mountains. High up amongst the stones we saw a cloaked figure, hidden half amongs the ferns and heather watching us climb, when we reached him he was shrouded in the soft yellow lichen and granite stone, a watcher, a protector of the landscape from times long ago.
We dined on chocolate tiffin cake and hot teas, buttery toast and cinnamon sprinkles.
Then indulged in the exquisite inspiring gifts that this gorgeous shop stocks...
Wishing you a peaceful and happy week

Sometimes I want to fly.....................

The wind and the rain lashed across the woods today, peeling the leaves and bright berry's from the bushes, and blowing into my arms as if it would lift me above the trees....how I wish I could soar right into the wind, swooping over the park, diving low over the river, spinning and turning in the chaotic fury of it all.
Wrapping up my dreams I tucked them close to my heart in my warm coat, and carefully spun them into my cooking this afternoon...that will spice meal time up I thought.
Have a lovely Sunday
