The Solstice draws near.....

I went out on my bike Saturday to a local farmers market, I wanted to escape the shops, the noise and the lights. I made a lovely thick vegetable stew with lentils and pearl barley for us all....Later as the evening drew in I brought in a tree from the garden bought a few weeks ago, it was damp and heavy with the sharp tang of pinewood and I dressed it with glass droplets and prayer cards from my friend Lisa...I have carols playing and the house smells of Frankinsence and winter spices. There is a big fat Thrush on the Rowan outside just sitting like me, silently watching the day...................
Such a simple pleasure, I wish I could do it more often.
I hope you find a quiet space for your thoughts sometime this week, we all need a space....
Love and hugs
Lynn xx

Have a nice week!

Oh my friend, thank you for visiting and for leaving me such addictive lovely words! I did have a walk into your blog for a couples of days ago, but it was so late and I was afraid my words wouldn`t suit your ears :)) You know how silly we can be with not enough sleep, haha..
Well, I came along with your wonderful walk, what a beauty winter wonderland! Gosh, the most gorgeous winter postcards ever. And your little candles, magical!
You seem to enjoy these words : "Take time to enjoy the simple things in life". I have a stamp with these words and when I wrap a gift I always leave the receiver with something to think about. And another walk that gave you happiness. How adoriable isn`t your decorated stairs! And your little tree, I had to enlarge it to have a good look. It is beautiful Lynn! I have to hurry finding one myself, thursday we are heading for the woods.
Well, I have to sew my last Christmas socks, I know, I should have finnished everything by now. I find it difficult to say no..

Have wonderful peaceful days, see you soon!
Kiss and hug
Aina

It has become a bit calmer here at home, because my neighbours son is on Boarding School in Denmark from monday to friday, so it is mostly on the weekends that I get disturbed by them...But I still want to move to another cottage, and I hope that I will be able to do so..!

Hi Lynn!
I love your snowflakes!!! Where did you find them?

Yes, these days its hysterical in the city...I prefer to stay at home lighting candles and just relax! I get SO stressed from all pepole running around...Puh! But I went to the city with my mom saturday. It was ok for a couple of hours, then we went back home again.

We have a tiny x-mas three in our kitchen now. This weekend we are bringing in the BIG one! ;- )

Take care, BIG hug! Lina

Oh gosh, that does sound heavenly. Rarely do I get to enjoy the daytime like that with little ones always running around demanding my attention. I tend to stay up late at night doing the things I wished I had been able to do during the day and often times end up sleep deprived the next day. So thank you for your lovely post and visuals. :)

Dearest Lynn!

It is allways a magical moment to visit your blog, and this time was absolutely one!

Your pictures are lovely and your beautifull home looks so nice with the tree and decorations. I love all fabrics and colours that you have in your home. So femenine and cosy, Lynn. You have such a good taste and you have decorated your home so nice!

I have been doing all my christmas shopping locally this year! I feel that handcraft and simple things is even more important for me than ever! The hysteric shopping do not give me any pleasure at all. Of course are my small children wishing toys as gifts and i will give them that. But i try to make my christmas as simple as i can! Decorations from the wood and garden and handmade gifts is the very best for me!

I hope you also find some time to do all of these nice things that you enjoy!
I wish you a wonderfull and cosy, creative week!

Many hugs my friend!

Hi Lynn,
You touched the very heart of genuine christmasfeelings! So calm and beautiful. Love the pictures from your home with the tree and the lovely rose on Your coat. I will try not to get stressed about christmas this year but it´s hard with so many musts!
I even get stressed when I visit all the beautiful and genious blogs out there (yours included!)and I realize that I don´t have the time (or talant?) to do everything I would like to do with my own blog...makes me feel a bit low :( Perhaps I should give it up? But I will definitely visit you from time to time to get inspired!

A lot of warm hugs

Hi Lynn,

I love this post. Your pictures always have a dreamy quality about them and your words paint a wonderfully peaceful setting. Did you make the little angel doll? She is very sweet.

I, too am rushing around more than usual this year since the American Thanksgiving holiday fell late in the month leaving less time for Christmas. I think I will make a roast rib of beef for Christmas dinner since my son will be home for college and is craving beef! I made some candied orange peels last night and will dip in chocolate and package up for gifts along with cookies and other goodies. I have to go to a cookie swap later this week so I need to get baking soon too!

Lots of love, peace and holiday fun to you during this season.

Hello Lynn...

At last there is some time to catch the spirit of Yule, tomorrow is the first day off from work and that is a reliefe for me, my hands are so sore..there are necessary thing to do before Christmas eve for us all, tomorrow it´s time for me and Marko to do some Christmas shopping..I would gladly skip that part this time of year, so much people on the move, long queues and so on.
I love your pics, you have a beautiful home..elegant. If my memory dont fail me now..I hope your daughter had the greatest birthday! :-) I wish you´ll have lovely days to come..with lots of Yule spirit..:-)

Hugs to you!

Dear Lynn. This is a lovely advent post. The pictures are delightful, and I wish I could sit on one of those stairs and admire your festive home. Or indeed, I wish I could sit on one of those stairs and have that moment of peace which you describe. I feel as though I am chasing my tail, probably because I am! Thank you for sharing this moment of peace and tranquility. Enjoy. Denise

Hi Lynn

I've just spent a few minutes reading this blog, admiring your wonderful pics & listening to the heavenly music thereon. You've inspired me to pull on my wellies, grab the dog lead and spend some quality time walking in the woods and orchards nearby... hoping to find some reflective moments on the real meaning of Christmas.
Thanks for the nudge.
