Autumn nesting....

How wonderful to see the sunshine again, it has inspired us to pick apples, make hedgerow jam, and go for long walks with thick socks, welly boots, and rosy cheeks in the sunny yet chilled morning air. The fields are full of corn stooks and crows, and the odd beech leaf falls ever so gently to ground. It has made me feel nesty at home, gathering the autumn in, piling up the wood near the fire, I want to smell cinnamon, and make squash soup with garlic bread for tea, light candles and dream...yes always dream.........the land is changing, the seasons move forward, the wheel turns.

Dreaming - Ah yes - my favorite thing. It is wonderful to dream and then, through our actions, see them come through. It's magic to me.

What a scrummy post, I can literally smell both the clean, crisp autumn air and the lingering scent of cinnamon.

I just love fall, love it with everything I am. To me it signifies a fresh start; not the end to summer but the beginning of something new, and experiencing it with fully charged batteries. The wheel turns indeed and we slow our pace down in order to hibernate. That's the way it has always gone.

Thank you, dear Lynnston!

I'm so jealous -- YOU HAVE WELLIE BOOTS!!! You have NEED of Wellie Boots! I see ads for them in catalogs, so colorful and fun looking, but here in the desert, goodness, what's the point!?

Meanwhile, that sunlit, pillowed corner there makes me want to rest my head and daydream!

Autumn is a time for reflection, the time of year I feel most empathy with..
I would almost say I am looking forward to winter now.. Sleep comes more easily in the darker days and more time for dreaming..

Enjoy these golden days when the sun shines through..

With love

Dear Lynn,

The colour in the pears is like a watercolor painting... beautiful!
Mmmm....I love squash soup, I can taste it now. I have not had hedgrow jam before, I will have to try it, if I can find it here? I just love Autumn and the colour pallete out doors, the crunch of leaves beneath foot, the smell of wood fires... branches and warm stews with homemade bread.

happy dreaming........and hugs
Lisa

It sounds fabulous!! I mean, your words are taking me away, floating away for a few moments..like magic! I was an incredible daydreamer at school, uh, I still am :)) But without any dreams, where would we be? It is a good thing, like a treasure...

Sorry Lynn, for not letting you know, that I have been here...looking, enjoying your work..I was a bit busy, but I love you, you know :)
You are so incredible motivating, uplifting and inspirational to me.
I had you in my mind when I started my latest work. I was thinking, how can I be a bit more adventurous? (did I spell it right?)
I mean, with my work..I leaned and watched our nearest forest, looking at my plants...maybe I "got it"..I just have to wait and see..still have a few stiches..

Take good care and enjoy your Autumn days!
Hugs and love
Aina

Ps: I am also going to make some jam really soon!

Dreaming...it´s a one of my favourite things to do ;-) Sometimes it´s almost frightening how it is possible to shut out the world in the middle of the day when daydreaming and yet so relaxing to be able to do so. Your home is breathtakingly beautiful, every little detail is magnificient!
Every time we had holidays, freetime, weekends...my father used to make things with his hands, mostly renovating at home or at our summerhouse, he enjoyd auctions and old things..I think it´s in the veins ;-) Normally he worked in a costume and travelled a lot, so it was some kind of relaxation for him to create in his own way with the hammer, saw...and a big box full of nails :-)

I hope the sun shines on you...
I´m going to climb up the appletree now :-)

Hugs Anne

The song on my blog is "Lullaby" with my number one favorite: Loreena McKennitt, I simply ADORE her..!The poem is by William Blake.
