A nice saturday......

Scrummy.........

Then I did some sewing.........

First I bought some flowers............
......................then I went out into the sunshine and showers but it was bitterly cold, I did not go far just far enough to gather some feel good, scented spring flowers, lift my face to the sunshine, and have a walk through the park, goodness can those birds sing.........
I have been working on a rather threadbare piece of cloth, old soft damask, that I have dyed and discharged with a pattern of plates, not a new idea but somthing I wanted to try. I have embroidered blossom across it and some cakes, and I am beginning to add cups and a tea pot, this is my practise piece, so I can try out my small ideas. I hope to be starting on a pale turquoise one for my moms birthday, as you know she adores cakes so I hope she will like this.
I then rescued some very innocent bananas from being chucked in the bin, husbands Huh! ( I love him really) and popped them into a couple of cakes...yummy, now he's glad he did not throw them away. It's nice to be getting back to normal, well normal for me..and I have been enjoying catching up on all of your posts...gosh you have all been busy.
I hope you are having a lovely weekend, my friends.
Hugs Lynn xx

Hi Lynne,
Wish I could share a piece of that yummy cake...My Mum used to make banana cake, I can practically smell those photos of yours...
I can't bake to save my life, but my daughter can, and makes me anzac biscuits when I get cravings for some home cooking..
Love your embroidery...will you be making it into something even tho its only a practice piece???..I always felt a bit wasteful when I was making practice pieces for students..
So glad you're feeling better...

Your weekend sounds like it is off to a nice start with baking, sewing and pretty spring flowers. I don't know where our spring went because today it is cold with rain showers. I too bought some spring flowers today so that we could have a bit of sunshine indoors. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Again,
Thanks for your comments re my new block canvases, yes, it seems I am off on a new tangent, don't know what my "style" is...I really wish I knew, but, I think it's because I started to be "creative". so late in my life, that I am all over the place wanting to try everything, but these latest pieces have got me so passionate about painting faces....I don't know where it will end up...

Hello Lynne!
Thanks for your comment on my blog! :)
I just bought my new bike on Saturday actually! Since I moved to the countryside in December I thought I had to buy a new one as my old one wasn´t really suitable for the gravelled roads around here. I got to go for a test ride Saturday evening, but yesterday it snowed quite a lot so now I have to wait until it melts away (hopefully soon, it´s awful to have snow in April! ) before I´ll take my bike for a ride again. Before I used to cycle all year round, but the last few years I haven´t cycled at all in the winter. Can´t say I´m too fond of icy roads either...
A nice week to you too! :)

Thank you for your kinds words! I had a couple of serviettes with the ivy and cut it out, and then used decovarnish..finishing with a thin layer of paint before polishing it. Mum loved it! It was fun to do and didn´t take much time at all. She´s given me two more items which I will try to give a new appearance, oh how I wish I had more hours every day...

Keep smiling Lynn!
