oh everything is falling apart.....but I love it

I just love nice stuff thats falling apart, it's as if I know it has a limited life so I just enjoy it, I love the history, and the fragility of these somtimes humble pieces, of lost grandeur and time that has past...........

I can get quite upset about loved possessions decaying but I guess it is the circle of life in a material sort of way.
Before Uppark burnt down it was incedibly shabby inside and I didn't know if I liked it or not.
What I hate is new things made to look aged - I'm not talking paint effects on furniture more clothes and soft furnishings.

Pretty much everything i have is ancient, i have been involved in antiques and interiors for well over 20 years, i just do not get this re-worked vintage homeware stuff! There is so much "real" vintage out there, my madonna figure is wrapped in tissue paper and stuffed in a box in Bury at the moment, her first born is also stashed away, if i ever get my shop up and running i wll have them out for peeps to admire, love the patchwork heart, Stephne x

I have just been given an C18th fine linen sheet - supposedly to cut up - it has a neat handstitched central seam and small silk embroidered initials BSI and the date 1764.
I know I will never be able to cut into it, it is developing pinpoint holes so can't take hard wear and I shall probably cart it about in my material stash for the rest of my life,
